As you may or may not have heard, Heat is being acquired by Deloitte Digital, which is a division of Deloitte U.S. Firms (who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious).
“Ok, Heat, if you’re not getting picked up by a holding company, what the heck are you doing?”
We’re joining forces with Deloitte Digital to help clients reach their ultimate potential. Perhaps as people, but more likely as advertisers. We’re combining Deloitte Digital’s deep understanding of strategy, data-driven insights and operational experience with our power of surprising creative thinking. So no matter what a client’s ambition may be, it can be realized at a scale that no other agency collaboration out there can offer. It’s something that’s never been done. And we love doing stuff that no one’s thought to try before.
So why sell? Why now? Deloitte Digital is not an advertising holding company, so they’re not going to come in and change the culture. They’re buying Heat to let Heat be Heat, just at a larger scale. Which is very decent of them (and smart, we think) so that’s why we ultimately said yes.
So we’re still Heat. We still have an appropriate allotment of founder-approved cerveza in the fridge and a creepy bunny mask lurking in the hallway. We’re still a friendly group of moderately attractive people working together to create awesome stuff. We’re just stepping it up a bit, to maximize our impact and push insanely surprising, funny, strategic, thoughtful work out into the world. Now we just have a few extra really smart, awesome people helping us get there.
