Mike D. joins Heat. Wait, not that one.

Heat is happy to announce the hire of Creative Director Mike D, aka Duck, aka Mike Duckworth, who will lead projects for clients like Esurance, Dolby, Hello Bank, and Hotwire.

Originally hailing from New Jersey and a graduate of Creative Circus, Mike has a long history in advertising working for agencies like Martin/Williams, The Richards Group, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and BBDO/SF. He’s won several One Show Gold and Silver doorstoppers, an Addy Award paperweight or two, some CA Annual placemats, several Cannes Finalist “attaboys”, and a Mercury Award grilled-cheese presser.

“Mike is a great addition to the agency, an inspiring creative, writer, soon-to-be killer guitarist, and a really darn good guy,” says Steve Stone, chairman and executive creative director.

Since his start writing toilet paper and kitty litter ads, he’s moved on to create awesome work. He’s built digital campaigns for Hyundai, created integrated brand campaigns for Toyota, written TV spots for Google and Wells Fargo, and developed captivating print ads for Patron.

Mike now lives in San Francisco with Baxter the dog, Daisy and Pepper the cats, and Naomi the wife (also a Heater). We’re excited to have him on the roster creating more paperweight-winning work for Heat and our clients. He also practices snake charming, teaches full contact yoga, invents MENSA puzzles, and recites ancient Greek literature. He’s a Mike of all Trades and we couldn’t be more excited to have him join the ranks and to (kindly) change the world he will plot and scheme.*
